Booking & quotes
Booking us is easy as. Here's how it works.
Q01 How do I book a plumber?
Easy as. Fill in the free quote form on this page, call 1800 224 229 or text 0440 134 598. You can also tap Ask Lenny at the bottom of the screen. A real local person gets back to you, usually by text.
Q02 Are your quotes free?
Yep, quotes are free, and our quote is our price. No nasty surprises when the bill turns up.
Q03 Can I just text you instead of calling?
Course you can. Text 0440 134 598 with your name, suburb and what's going on. A photo or a quick video helps heaps. We'll get back to you straight away.
Q04 How soon can you get here?
Tell us what's happening and when suits, and we'll give you the earliest time we've got. Urgent jobs like burst pipes, gas smells and sewage coming up get bumped to the front of the queue, so call 1800 224 229 or text 0440 134 598 for those.
Q05 Do you work for landlords, property managers and businesses?
We sure do. We look after plenty of rentals around Geelong, plus commercial jobs like shops, offices and strata. Agents and owners book the same way: form, call or text, and we'll keep you in the loop.
Prices & payment
Nobody likes a surprise bill. Here's how our pricing works.
Q06 How much do you charge?
Every job's a bit different, so we take a look first and give you a fixed price before we start. A few of our online specials: blocked drains from $149, a CCTV drain inspection for $199*, and hot water supplied and installed from $1,390*.
Q07 Will the price change once you've started?
Nope. You get a fixed price before any work starts. If we find something else along the way, we stop, show you, and quote it before doing anything more. You're always the one who decides.
Q08 Is there a call-out fee?
We'll always tell you the cost upfront, before any work starts. No surprises, ever.
Q09 How do I pay?
Whatever's easiest for you, mate. We take all forms of payment.
Blocked drains
Blocked drains are my bread and butter. Here's what locals ask me.
Q10 How do I know if my drain is blocked?
Tell-tale signs are sinks or showers draining slowly, gurgling noises, the toilet filling up higher than normal, bad smells, or water bubbling up out of the drain outside. If it's more than one fixture at once, it's usually further down the line.
Q11 Can I fix it myself with drain cleaner?
A plunger is fine for a small blockage. I'd steer clear of the harsh chemical stuff though. It can be rough on your pipes and it won't shift tree roots. If it keeps coming back, text us on 0440 134 598 and we'll find out why.
Q12 How much does it cost to clear a blocked drain?
Blocked drains start from $149 (online special). We confirm your exact price before we start, and if the camera shows there's more going on, we quote that first.
Q13 What's a CCTV drain inspection?
We send a little waterproof camera down the pipe so we can see exactly what's going on in there: roots, cracks, a sunken section or a build-up of gunk. You see the footage too, so there's no guesswork. Our CCTV inspection is $199*.
Q14 What's drain jetting?
We use a high-pressure water jetter to blast out roots, fat, grease and built-up gunk. It cleans the whole pipe wall instead of just poking a hole through the blockage, so it stays clear for longer.
Q15 Why do my drains keep blocking?
Usually it's tree roots getting into old pipe joints, wipes and fat building up, or a cracked or sunken pipe. The camera tells us which one it is, so we fix the cause, not just the symptom. If a pipe's damaged, we show you the footage and quote the repair before we touch it.
Q16 Is your drain work guaranteed?
Yes. All our drain work comes with a 10-year workmanship warranty.
Hot water
Cold shower this morning? Let's get you sorted.
Q17 My hot water's gone cold. Repair or replace?
Plenty of the time it's a repair, like a thermostat, heating element or gas part. If the tank's leaking or it's getting on in years, replacing it usually makes more sense. We'll give you the honest answer either way.
Q18 What types of hot water systems do you install?
Gas and electric storage tanks, instant (continuous flow) gas systems and heat pumps, across all the major brands. Which one's best depends on how many people are in the house, whether you've got gas or solar, and how much room you've got. We'll help you pick.
Q19 How much is a new hot water system?
Supplied and installed by our plumbers: mains pressure storage systems from $1,390*, instant systems from $1,990* and heat pumps from $2,590*. We'll give you a fixed price for your home before we start.
Q20 What's a heat pump, and is it worth it?
A heat pump pulls warmth out of the air to heat your water, a bit like a fridge working in reverse. It costs far less to run than an old electric tank, and it pairs really well with solar panels. They fit in tight spots like side passages too.
Q21 Are there rebates for heat pumps?
Rebates may be available under Victorian and federal government programs for eligible homes. Eligibility criteria and conditions apply, and they can change. We'll check what applies to your place when we quote.
Q22 There's water dripping from my hot water system. Is that bad?
A small drip from the relief valve pipe while the water heats up can be normal. Water coming from the tank itself usually means it's on its way out. Switch it off at the power or gas, then text a photo to 0440 134 598 and we'll tell you what we reckon.
Q23 Is my hot water system still under warranty?
Manufacturer warranties vary by brand and system. Send us the brand and roughly how old it is, and we'll check what's covered before we quote.
Leaks, burst pipes & emergencies
Water going everywhere? Turn it off at the meter first, then get in touch.
Q24 I've got a burst pipe. What do I do?
First, turn the water off at the meter. It's usually near the front boundary in a little box or by the fence; turn the valve fully clockwise. If water's near power points or appliances, switch off the power at the main switch. Then call 1800 224 229 or text 0440 134 598 and we'll get a local plumber to you as fast as we can.
Q25 What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Burst pipes, a gas smell, sewage coming up, no hot water at all, or water getting near your electrics. If you're not sure, call or text us and we'll tell you straight.
Q26 I think I've got a hidden leak. How do I check?
Signs are a water bill that's jumped for no reason, damp patches on walls or floors, or the water meter dial still moving when every tap is off. We use listening gear and thermal cameras to find leaks, usually without ripping up walls or floors.
Q27 Can you help with my insurance claim?
We can write up a report on what we found and what we fixed, which you can pass on to your insurer.
Q28 Is a dripping tap or running toilet worth fixing?
Yep. It wastes a lot of water and it adds up on your bill. It's usually a quick fix, and our vans carry the common parts.
Gas fitting
Gas is no DIY job. Here's what you need to know.
Q29 I can smell gas. What should I do?
Turn the gas off at the meter with a quarter turn of the handle. Don't flick any light switches or use flames, and get everyone outside. Once you're out, call 1800 224 229, or the gas emergency line on 132 771.
Q30 What gas work do you do?
Gas lines, connecting cooktops, heaters and hot water, gas leak detection and repairs, gas meter relocations and pipe upgrades, and gas heater servicing.
Q31 Are your gas fitters licensed?
Every one of them. Our own licensed gas fitters do the work, and you get a compliance certificate for regulated gas work.
Q32 How often should my gas heater be serviced?
Energy Safe Victoria recommends getting gas heaters serviced at least every two years. We check it's running safely, including a carbon monoxide check. Gas heater services start from $180*.
Water filters
Fancy better-tasting water straight from the tap?
Q33 Do you install water filters?
Yep, our plumbers supply and install under-sink and whole-house water filters. Text 0440 134 598 with what you're after and we'll sort you a quote.
Q34 Under-sink or whole-house filter: what's the difference?
An under-sink filter cleans the water at one tap, usually the kitchen, for drinking and cooking. A whole-house filter treats all the water coming into the home, so showers, laundry and every tap get it too.
